The change in daylight saving time will have only minimal effects for most home pc users. Applying Microsoft updates will fix the time on most newer operating systems. If you use Outlook calendar for your schedule or Microsoft Exchange Server for business meetings things get a little more complicated.
Microsoft has made patches and tools to correct meeting times in the affected weeks.
All users of Microsoft products affected by the time change should give extra attention to meetings and appointments scheduled between March 11, 2007 to April 1, 2007 and October 28, 2007 to November 4, 2007 (from support.microsoft.com)
According to an article at Computer Reseller Magazine. Wrong times on emails could cause legal issues:
"It will be important for insurance companies and lawyers that deal with time stamps on e-mails, for example," The article said. "Documents could be an hour late because someone didn't do their patch management. If a lawyer is an hour late getting something to a judge, is the judge going to allow you to say, 'I didn't get in on time because my company didn't put a patch on my Windows machine?' What do you think the judge would do?"
Besides meetings and scheduling we feel time clock could also be affected be the change or lack of change during the affected weeks.
If companies have servers and exspcially customer with Exchange Servers they should have an IT person apply all DLT patches and fixes from Microsoft or their software providers.
